iOS 27 is now rolling out to compatible iPhones, and some users may find that downloading Apple’s major new software update takes longer than expected.
One of the most likely explanations around launch is demand. Millions of compatible iPhones can attempt to contact Apple’s software update infrastructure after a major release becomes available, meaning download speeds can be slower than they would be on a normal day.
Your own internet connection also plays a major role. Wi-Fi speed, network congestion and signal quality can all affect how quickly the iOS 27 update file reaches your iPhone.
