If you’ve installed iOS 27 and joined Apple’s waiting list for Siri AI, one of the first questions is likely to be how long you will actually have to wait.
Apple has not provided a guaranteed waiting time for Siri AI access. That means there is no fixed number of minutes or hours after joining the list before the new experience becomes available.
The waiting list allows Apple to control how quickly Siri AI access expands to eligible devices. The Apple Post previously reported that Apple introduced the Siri AI waiting list with iOS 27, using an approach similar to the staged activation used during earlier Apple Intelligence rollouts.
Why am I still on the Siri AI waiting list?
Remaining on the waiting list does not necessarily mean anything is wrong with your iPhone. If your request has been accepted, access may simply not have been enabled for your device yet.
There is also an important difference between waiting for Apple to grant Siri AI access and waiting for Apple Intelligence resources to finish downloading. Once access is available, the iPhone may still need to download on-device models before everything is ready to use.
Apple says the time required to download its on-device Apple Intelligence models can vary and recommends connecting the device to Wi-Fi and power for the fastest download experience.
If Siri AI has already been approved but still appears to be preparing or downloading, leaving the iPhone connected to Wi-Fi and a charger for a while may help the required resources finish downloading.
Users should also make sure they are running the latest available version of iOS 27, that Apple Intelligence is enabled where required, and that their device, language and region support the feature.
There is no need to repeatedly leave and rejoin the waiting list in an attempt to move through it faster. Unless Apple provides an error or the request disappears entirely, the best option is to leave the request in place and wait for the activation notification.
