Apple to reduce iPad bezel sizes, says Gurman

Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has said that Apple plans to reduce iPad bezel sizes with future iterations, saying that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have displays made with a new technology: low-injection pressure over-molding, or “LIPO” as it’s dubbed inside Apple, which could eventually come to the iPad lineup.
Gurman says the new LIPO technology will take the bezel size of the iPhone 15 Pro series down to 1.5 millimeters (from about 2.2 millimeters on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max).
LIPO, which was first used in the Apple Watch Series 7, makes the device’s borders thinner and offers an increase to the size of the display.
With future iPad iterations, Apple could bring low-injection pressure over-molding technology to the iPad lineup, says Gurman, although no timeline was shared for the update.
