Vodafone and Three plan merger to create UK’s biggest mobile carrier

The UK’s third and fourth largest mobile carriers, Vodafone and Three, have announced a plan to merge to create UK’s biggest carrier, set to overtake EE, which provides coverage for over 99% of the country following a merger between mobile networks Orange and T-Mobile.
The merger, if approved by regulators, will create a group with a combined 27 million mobile customers.
Under the plan, Vodafone and Three have pledged to invest £11bn over 10 years to create, what they described as, “one of Europe’s most advanced standalone 5G networks.”
