Apple TV+ is reportedly seeing quarterly user gains in the UK as rivals Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ see quarterly user drops according to Barb, the UK’s industry’s standard data analysts service for understanding what people watch in the country.
The insight (via AppleInsider) claims that 1.91 million homes in the UK had access to Apple TV+ in Q1 2023, an increase of +13.0% from 1.69 million in Q4 2023.
For comparison, 16.96 million homes had access to Netflix in Q1 2023, down -1.1% from 17.15 million in Q4 2022.
Apple TV+ continues to hold a small marketshare of subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services in the country, falling below Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+.
According to Barb, 19.08 million UK homes (67.4% of households) had access to a subscription video service in Q1 2023. This was a -1.7% decrease from 19.42 million in Q4 2022.
