Director of Apple Pay Business Development leaves job at Apple

Eric Hoffman, Director of Apple Pay Business Development, has left Apple after eight years, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Hoffman, who was in charge of payment partnerships and Apple Pay business development for the Americas, was responsible for the iPhone maker’s relationships with banks and merchants, helping grow the Apple Pay service since its early days.
Hoffman, who is moving for pastures new, was also responsible for the launch of Tap to Pay on iPhone — Apple’s new feature that turns the iPhone into a payment terminal, with businesses able to accept Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards, and other digital wallets through a simple tap of their iPhone.
The reason for Hoffman’s exit is unclear, with it unknown what lies in store for the director in the future.
