Apple releases iOS 16.2 with new Lock Screen widgets, Always-On display customization, and more

Apple has released iOS 16.2 for iPhone, introducing new Sleep and Medications Lock Screen widgets, Always-On display customization for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, and more.
iOS 16.2 includes Apple’s new Advanced Data Protection feature which, when enabled, gives users the choice to protect the vast majority of their most sensitive iCloud data with end-to-end encryption so that it can only be decrypted on their trusted devices.
With today’s new update, Apple is introducing a new option to hide wallpaper and/or notifications when the Always-On display is enabled on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, making the screen darker and less eye-catching when the Always-On display is in an active state.
Also included with today’s release of iOS 16.2 is Apple Music Sing — the new karaoke-like feature for Apple Music with adjustable vocals and real-time lyrics, an “Everyone for 10 Minutes” AirDrop setting, 5G support to iPhone users in India, and several bug fixes and improvements.
iOS 16.2 features improved search in Messages, allowing users to find photos based on their content, like a dog, car, person, or text, Crash Detection optimizations on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models, a fix for an issue that could cause some notes not to sync with iCloud after updates are made, and more.
Available now over-the-air, Apple’s new iOS 16.2 update for iPhone can be downloaded by opening the Settings app, tapping General and selecting Software Update.
