iPhone SE 4 rumored to feature iPhone XR design
Apple’s next-generation iPhone SE 4 could feature an iPhone XR-style design with a 6.1-inch LCD display, smaller bezels, and no Home button, according to leaker Jon Prosser at FrontPageTech.com, who says the new device could come in Midnight, Starlight, and (PRODUCT)RED finishes.
Citing an anonymous source, FrontPageTech.com doesn’t speculate on what tech specs the new device could offer, although it will likely offer minor upgrades over the current iPhone SE announced earlier this year.
Despite the iPhone XR featuring Face ID, It’s unclear if the technology will move to the iPhone SE 4, considering that it is a low-end affordable alternative to other models in the iPhone lineup. Apple could add a Touch ID sensor to the device’s Power button, similar to what we have seen with recent iPad models, including the iPad Air and iPad mini.
Within his report, Prosser has shared exclusive concepts showing what the new device could look like with Midnight, Starlight, and (PRODUCT)RED finishes.
This isn’t the first time that it has been rumored that Apple will give the iPhone SE an iPhone XR-like redesign. In 2021, rumors claimed that the next iPhone SE, which Apple has since released, would offer many of the features of the iPhone XR, though the rumors never came to fruition.
Apple’s most recent iPhone SE update came in March, with the launch of the 5G iPhone SE, featuring the A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13, 5G connectivity, better battery life, improved durability, and a new camera system with Photographic Styles, Deep Fusion, and more for a new, higher price of $429 (US).
