Chip maker TSMC sees revenue grow by 48% thanks to strong iPhone 14 demand

Chip supplier TSMC has reported higher-than-expected quarterly revenue for the third quarter of the year, with strong demand for the iPhone 14 likely behind the Taiwanese company’s strong growth, at a time where the overall chip industry is suffering due to rising inflation and industrywide slowdown.
As reported by Bloomberg (via 9to5Mac), which calculated revenue of NT$613 billion ($19.4 billion) in the third quarter of the year for the semiconductor maker, this year’s new iPhone lineup has resulted in strong revenue for the manufacturer, who are reaping the benefits of Apple’s annual influx in device sales.
Apple announced the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max in September, with strong demand for the new devices continuing in the month after their launch.
