How to change Lock Screen font and colors in iOS 16
Changes to the iPhone Lock Screen are arguably iOS 16’s biggest new feature, bringing personalisation options that allow users to change the look of the date and time with type styles and colour choices, add widgets to the Lock Screen to get information at a glance, such as upcoming calendar events, the weather and battery levels, relocated notifications, and more.
With iOS 16, users can customise the appearance of the Lock Screen by changing the default font and colours, creating a more personal experience unlike anything seen on the iPhone’s Lock Screen before, offering users almost full control of the appearance of the Lock Screen with some handy, easy to use personalisation features.
Apple offers four different font types to choose from and an infinite colour selection through a colour grid, spectrum and sliders, as well as the option to specify a Hex colour code within the iOS 16 Lock Screen editor.
How to change Lock Screen font and colors in iOS 16
- On the Lock Screen, press and hold the background image until the Collections view appears
- Edit your Lock Screen by tapping the Customise button
- Press the time shown on the Lock Screen preview and select your desired font and colour
- Tap the background to close the customisation screen and press Done to save your custom Lock Screen
Users can select one of Apple’s preset colour choices or scroll across to the colour picker to select a colour from a colour wheel.
