First look at 31 new emoji proposed to come to iOS next year
The Unicode Consortium, which decides on new emojis, is considering 31 new characters to release with next year’s Emoji 15, including a new donkey, moose, blackbird, jellyfish, light blue heart, grey heart, and more, which, if approved by Apple, could release on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch with future software updates.
As shown in sample illustrations by Emojipedia, Apple now has the choice to add 31 new emoji characters, with the list comprising of a shaking face, two pushing hands, a plain pink, grey and light blue heart, a donkey, dellyfish, hair pick, and a Khanda – the symbol of the Sikh faith.
The concepts show what the new emoji will likely look like if they eventually come to iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and macOS in the future, with the Unicode Consortium expected to confirm a full list of all proposed Emoji 15 characters in September.
