Outage stopping Mastercard card holders from adding cards to Apple Pay

Apple has acknowledged an ongoing outage affecting Mastercard card holders that is preventing users from being able to add their cards to Apple Pay.
First spotted by MacRumors, the outage has been reported on Apple’s online System Status webpage, where the iPhone maker is warning the issue is ongoing and affecting “some users.”
The outage is only affecting Mastercard card holders adding a new card to be used with Apple Pay and not users who already have Mastercard cards in the Wallet app, meaning payments using Apple Pay should not be affected.
The situation is ongoing.
