Searching Google Maps for ‘Loch Ness’ brings up an image of a naked man
Update: Google appears to have now removed the image.
It’s not exactly what you’d expect to find when searching for the Scottish Highlands on Google Maps, but users have found that searching for Loch Ness – the large freshwater loch in Scotland – brings up a 3D image of a naked man.
Loch Ness is currently trending on Twitter, with users sharing memes, gifs, and reactions after finding the image in the Google Maps app.
One user wrote “Just seen why Loch Ness is trending. That’s not the sort of monster I was looking for.” Another Tweeted “I thought Loch Ness was trending because of Countryfile. How wrong was I.”
To find the image, users simply need to search for Loch Ness on Google Maps, tap the small preview image in the bottom left and scroll around the scene. Be warned – you can’t unsee it.

Google will undoubtedly pull the image from its results sharply. Until then, it remains online for the world to see.
