Major outage takes down large websites including Amazon, Twitter, PayPal, The New York Times, and more
An apparent CDN issue has caused major outages affecting several large websites including the UK Government website Gov.uk, Amazon, The New York Times, Twitter, Reddit, Spotify, PayPal, Buzzfeed, CNN, and more.
The cause of the issue hasn’t been confirmed, however the Fastly CDN network appears to be responsible, with the company confirming it was investigating an issue with its content delivery network, a distributed network of servers that deliver web content to users around the world.
The CDN provider is reporting that all of its data centers are experiencing degraded performance.
