Renders claim to offer early look at Apple’s redesigned Mac mini
Leaker Jon Prosser has shared renders claiming to offer an early look at Apple’s rumored new redesigned Mac mini, claiming the machine will feature a “plexiglass-like” top and aluminium enclosure.
In the latest episodes of his YouTube series Front Page Tech, Prosser claims the new Mac mini will likely feature the same number of ports as the current-generation model, which includes four Thunderbolt, two USB-A, Ethernet, and HDMI, however, the power cable will likely be magnetic, similar to that seen with the recently released M1 iMac.
Apple is allegedly considering two-tone color options for the Mac mini, similar to that seen on the 2021 iMac, with Prosser claiming the new machine will feature a new “M1X” chip, similar to that rumored for Apple’s redesigned MacBook Pro, which could arrive as soon as WWDC in just under two weeks time.
The renders, made by Ian Zelbo, are said to have been made based on leaked schematics. The video backs up an earlier report from Bloomberg that pointed to the machine (code name J374) featuring the same chip as the next MacBook Pro, including eight high-performance cores and two energy-efficient cores for a total of 10, sold in either 16 or 32 graphics core variations.
