Leaker shares alleged new iPad Pro and iPad mini dummy units
Leaker Sonny Dickson has shared what is said to be dummy units of Apple’s new 2021 iPad Pro and iPad mini, showing few design changes from the current-generation models.
The dummy units point to the new iPads being almost indistinguishable from the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models available today, with the alleged “iPad mini 6” retaining a Home button and thick bezels on the top and bottom, despite earlier rumors that claimed Apple was working on an updated iPad mini with Face ID and an all-screen design.
In his tweet, Dickson suggests the new iPad mini may be “slightly thicker,” although it is hard to tell from the images shared.

Rumors have been pointing to Apple announcing updated iPads as soon as this month, with the next iPad Pro expected to feature a Thunderbolt port, new mini-LED display and an A14X chip.
Japanese site Macotakara reported in January that Apple was working on a new 8.4-inch display for the iPad mini which would have slimmer bezels and will look similar to the iPad Air 3, which Apple released in 2019.
Assuming Dickson’s dummies are accurate, it doesn’t appear that the device will get the larger display in this year’s upgrade.
