Apple has released a new 20W USB-C power adapter following the launch of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro today, which won’t include power adapters in the box for the first time.
The 20W power adapter was first introduced with the iPad Air and will come bundled in the box of the iPad as soon as it is released, but customers purchasing one of Apple’s four new iPhone models will be required to purchase the adapter separately if required.
The adapter is priced cheaper than the previous 18W USB-C model which Apple sold at $29.
The adapter is priced at $19. While the power adapter is compatible with any USB‑C-enabled device, Apple recommends pairing it with the 11-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd generation) for optimal charging performance.
