Leak again suggests 5.4-inch iPhone to be named ‘iPhone 12 mini’

Earlier this week, a reputable leaker suggested Apple would call its rumored new 5.4-inch iPhone the “iPhone 12 mini,” expected to launch next month alongside the “iPhone 12,” “iPhone 12 Pro,” and “iPhone 12 Pro Max.”

Now images allegedly showing stickers from packaging for Apple’s official silicone cases have leaked, again hinting that the smallest of this year’s new iPhone models will be called the “‌iPhone 12‌ mini.”

Shared on Twitter by @DuanRui, who last month published images showing the pamphlet for the then unannounced iPad Air 4, today’s leak shows stickers labelled with the names “iPhone 12 mini,” “iPhone 12,” “iPhone 12 Pro,” and “iPhone 12 Pro Max,” for Apple’s upcoming 5.4-inch, two 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch devices.

The cases themselves aren’t seen in the image, but @DuanRui shows off model numbers “MHL732M/A” and “MHLG32M/A,” neither of which have been used previously by Apple, as well as the address for Apple’s international distribution center in Ireland.

Apple confirmed earlier this year that its usual iPhone release schedule would be pushed back, with recent reports suggesting the new hardware will be unveiled during an event in October, which will also see the introduction of AirTags item trackers, new AirPods Studio headphones, and more.

It has previously been suggested that Apple will price the 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 between $699 – $749 and $799 – $849 respectively, with the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max from between $1,049 – $1,099 and $1,149 – $1,199.
