M4 iPad Pro rumored to launch at ‘Let Loose’ special event next month

Ahead of next month’s “Let Loose” special event on May 7, where Apple is anticipated to unveil new iPad models, as well as a new Apple Pencil, and Magic Keyboard, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has suggested that the event could see Apple unveil its first M4 chip with the iPad Pro.

In his weekly Power On newsletter on Sunday, Gurman reports “I’m hearing there is a strong possibility that the chip in the new iPad Pro will be the M4, not the M3. Better yet, I believe Apple will position the tablet as its first truly AI-powered device — and that it will tout each new product from then on as an AI device.”

Rumors suggest that Apple’s next iPad Pro models will feature new OLED displays, offering a better viewing experience over LED on the current-generation models thanks to several advantages in display quality including a larger color range and high contrast levels, better handling of darkness and lighting precision, and fast response times.

Initially, rumors pointed to the 2024 iPad Pro lineup potentially reaching a hefty $2,000 price tag, particularly for the largest model. However, a subsequent report refutes these earlier claims, suggesting a more moderate price adjustment. Instead, indications point towards a relatively modest uptick in pricing, hovering around $160 above the current models, which currently commence at $799 and $1099 respectively.
