Apple releases first developer betas of iOS 14, macOS 11, tvOS 14 and watchOS 7

Apple has released the first set of betas of iOS 14, iPadOS 14, watchOS 7, tvOS 14 and macOS 11 Big Sur to registered developers through the Apple Developer Program, allowing them to install early versions of the software ahead of their official releases scheduled for later in the year.

While developer betas are tempting, their newness often leads to severe bugs including data loss, large battery draining and more. We suggest either waiting for more stable beta releases before installing an early version of the new operating systems, or installing them with caution on a device which is not your daily driver.

Apple has confirmed that a public beta will be open for all of today’s newly announced operating systems starting July 14th, with updates being rolled out usually on a fortnightly basis until the official release of the next-generation systems in fall.
