Apple’s Tile-like tracking device shows up once more in iOS 13 code
A few months back it was reported that Apple was working on a Tile-like location tracking device. Now, we have a better idea of what Apple’s device might look like.
Discovered by MacRumors, iOS 13 code shows an image of “a small circular tag with an Apple logo in the center.” Also a new “Items” tab will supposedly be featured within the the “Find My” app. This is where it’s believed users will be able to track their things. “Safe Locations” can also be set where the user will not be notified if this item is left behind.
The device is expected to perform common actions like notify you if you’ve become separated from your items or having the ability to tap a button to start emitting a chime, but will also add features exclusive to the Apple model. It’s alleged that Apple will implement the use of augmented reality to help find your lost item after the user scans the area with their iPhone. Additionally, unlike most older Tile models code suggests that Apple’s tags will be equipped with a removable battery.
The image above shows off what it’s final design might look like, although nothing is official until revealed by the company. It’s possible we might see this revealed during their upcoming event on the 10th.
