German car manufacturer Volkswagen has announced that customers purchasing new CarPlay-equipped vehicles in Europe will receive up to 6 months free access to Apple Music, offering access to over 45 million songs for free-of-charge.
Available when customers register with Car-Net, Volkswagen’s connected car service, the new CarPlay promotion follows in the footsteps of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in the United States who similarly are offering those purchasing new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and FIAT models access to the service.
Within a press-release shared to the company’s newsroom earlier in the year, Jürgen Stackmann, Volkswagen brand Board Member for Sales, says the collaboration between Apple and Volkswagen combines the mutual passion of music and technology of the two brands to deliver a seamless and enjoyable entertainment experience for customers.

Customers purchasing CarPlay-equipped vehicles who already have a paid Apple Music subscription will receive three months free access to the service before being automatically put back onto their normal billing cycle. – Those new to Apple Music will benefit from Apple’s standard three free-of-charge trial of the service, and three additional months provided by Volkswagen themselves.
