Apple offering free Apple Watch Series 2 repairs to fix swollen battery issue
Apple is offering free, out of warranty repairs to customers effected by a swollen battery or power issues on their Apple Watch Series 2 according to a note shared by the company on their GSX portal on Friday, reports MacRumors.
Repairs are limited to the 42mm Apple Watch Series 2 models, including Sport, Edition, Hermès, and Nike+ models.
The program is available to customers for three years after the original date of purchase, and repairs can be scheduled at an Apple Store or at an Apple Authorized Service Provider. – Users can also send their faulty devices to the company to have them repaired and returned.
Apple has determined that under certain conditions, some Apple Watch Series 2 devices may not power on or they may experience an expanded battery. – Apple will service eligible devices free of charge. – Apple will authorize coverage for eligible devices for three years after the original date of purchase.
Apple advises that customers inquiring about a refund for a previous Apple Watch Series 2 battery replacement should contact its support advisors.
