Wireless charging likely for this year’s iPhone 8
Last year when the iPhone 7 was announced we believed that was when Apple would then introduce wireless charging. Unfortunately we didn’t see it then, but many rumors recently have indicated we will see the feature this year.
Most recently DigiTimes has reported that Lite-On Semiconductor, a Taiwanese company, will be the provider of parts used to enable wireless charging. It’s currently unclear if Apple is going to go with PMA or Qi wireless charging standard.
It’s believed that all three iPhone 8 models will support the new technology.
