Currently it’s unclear at what this new “Theatre” mode would include. With the popcorn icon it does lead us to believe it’s going to relate to movies. It’s speculated this would mute notifications. This would be similar to the already present “Do Not Disturb,” but could mute all forms of notifications. Of course this could also be a sort of Dark Mode.
Apple’s latest major release was iOS 10.2 and included the new TV app and updated emoji. It’s been rumored lately that updated iPads are expected in the March or April timeframe. These 10.3 features could be specific to these new iPad models. As always with Apple, we’ll just have to wait and see.
