Touch Bar equipped MacBook Pro models slip to 4-5 week shipping estimates
If you were hoping to have a new Touch Bar equipped MacBook Pro next month and haven’t already ordered one, you’re out of luck. Apple is currently quoting new orders to begin shipping in 4-5 weeks. At best, new deliveries wouldn’t arrive until late November or early December. At launch a few days ago, estimates began at two to three weeks. This would have meant delivery windows from November 17 to November 25.
Of course if you don’t want the newly announced Touch Bar and would prefer just the upgraded MacBook, you have better odds. The entry-level model is available for pick-up as soon as today in most stores and can ship in as little as 2-3 business days. It should also be noted that 15-inch models remain at 3-4 week shipping estimates.
As for pricing, the base 13-inch MacBook Pro that doesn’t include the Touch Bar is set at $1,499, while 13-inch Touch Bar models start at $1,799 for 256GB of storage or $1,999.00 for 512GB. 15-inch models, which all include a Touch Bar, start at $2,399 for 256GB of storage or $2,799.00 for 512GB. Currently Apple is is still selling last generation MacBook Pro models which are available for as low as $1,299.
