Apple stops signing iOS 9 downgrades
It’s been a little over a month after Apple released iOS 10. Now that the software has been installed on about 65% of devices, Apple has put an end to downgrades. Apple has now stopped signing iOS 9.3.5 for compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
In addition to 9.3.5, Apple is also no longer signing iOS 10.0.1. This makes iOS 10.0.2 the oldest software version users can downgrade to. This comes as no surprise. Apple stops signing older software version weeks after new ones are released.
Notably Apple is no longer signing tvOS 9.2.2 for the fourth-generation Apple TV.
