Apple shares new Apple Card ad highlighting quick approvals

Apple is promoting the speed of applying for Apple Card in an unusual commercial that follows a therapist who spots a cheap flight on her iPhone while a patient is talking.
In the Apple Card video, titled “Apply and use in minutes”, the therapist notices an airfare offer but cannot easily reach her wallet without interrupting the session. Instead, she opens the Wallet app, applies for Apple Card and uses it to book the flight while the patient continues speaking.
The ad uses the awkward situation to illustrate one of Apple Card’s main selling points: eligible customers can apply directly on an iPhone and, if approved, start using the card with Apple Pay without waiting for a physical card to arrive.
That convenience comes with an important distinction. Approval is not guaranteed, and some applications may require additional review. According to Apple’s application guidance, applying and receiving an offer does not affect a customer’s credit score, but accepting the offer triggers a hard credit inquiry that may affect it.
Apple Card is available only to qualifying applicants in the United States. The credit card is built into Wallet and offers Daily Cash rewards, spending information and no annual fee. Customers in other countries still cannot apply, despite continued interest in a wider launch. The Apple Post previously examined whether Apple’s upcoming switch to Chase could help change that.
Apple has used everyday mishaps to advertise the same quick sign-up process before. A previous Apple Card commercial featured a customer applying through Wallet after realizing he did not have a way to pay for a chocolate bar at a store checkout.
