Does iPhone Duo have a physical SIM card?

No. iPhone Duo does not support physical SIM cards, with Apple using eSIM exclusively on the foldable iPhone worldwide.
Apple says iPhone Duo supports Dual eSIM, allowing two eSIMs to remain active simultaneously. The device can store eight or more eSIMs, making it possible to keep several cellular plans saved and switch between them when required.
Unlike Apple’s eSIM-only approach that previously varied by market on some iPhone models, Apple explicitly states that iPhone Duo is not compatible with physical SIM cards.
For most customers, activation will therefore involve transferring an existing eSIM from another iPhone or obtaining an eSIM from their carrier. Travelers can also store additional supported eSIM plans on the device without replacing a physical card.
Anyone considering iPhone Duo should check that their carrier supports eSIM before buying, particularly in markets where physical SIM cards remain common.
iPhone Duo preorders open October 16 before availability begins October 23 in more than 70 countries and regions, including the United States and United Kingdom.
