Apple’s first foldable iPhone is getting closer, with just 20 days to go until iPhone Duo pre-orders officially begin.
Apple will open iPhone Duo pre-orders on Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time, or 8 a.m. Eastern Time in the United States. In the UK, pre-orders will begin at 1 p.m. BST.
The countdown follows an unusually long wait between Apple’s September unveiling and the device reaching customers. While iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max went on sale earlier this month, iPhone Duo won’t arrive until late October.
Apple confirmed earlier this month that iPhone Duo will start at $1,999 in the United States and £1,999 in the UK, with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage options available.
Customers can choose between two finishes, star white and night sky.
iPhone Duo marks Apple’s first entry into the foldable smartphone market. When closed, the device uses a 5.4-inch outer Super Retina XDR display. Opening the phone reveals a 7.6-inch inner display, which Apple says is the largest display it has ever offered on an iPhone.
Both displays support ProMotion, Always On and up to 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness. The inner screen also uses a nano-texture finish designed to reduce glare and make the display crease less noticeable.
Underneath, iPhone Duo is powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip and uses a dual-battery design alongside a custom vapor chamber for thermal management.
The folding design also introduces several new iOS experiences, including side-by-side apps, hands-free FaceTime and camera features that take advantage of the outer and inner displays.
iPhone Duo will ship with iOS 27.1 and includes support for Apple Intelligence and Siri AI. Apple has also confirmed that Apple Pencil with USB-C support will arrive later this year.
Pre-orders will open simultaneously across more than 70 countries and regions, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India and Japan.
The first iPhone Duo orders will begin arriving one week later on Friday, October 23, when the device will also become available in Apple Stores and through participating carriers and retailers. A further 28 countries and regions will receive the device from October 30.
Apple’s iPhone Duo Case and iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand will also become available to order when pre-orders open on October 16.
With 20 days remaining, customers planning to order iPhone Duo have just under three weeks left to decide on their preferred color and storage capacity before Apple’s first foldable iPhone goes up for pre-order.
