Apple’s next Apple TV 4K has appeared in leaked imagery found inside the company’s own code, providing further evidence that the first hardware refresh in nearly four years is close to launch.
The image was discovered by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris and is specifically associated with an “Apple TV 4K (4th generation)” model.
Visually, the device appears essentially unchanged from the current Apple TV 4K, suggesting Apple is focusing this generation on substantial internal upgrades rather than redesigning the set-top box.
The current third-generation Apple TV 4K was introduced in October 2022 with the A15 Bionic chip and 4GB of RAM.
Apple’s replacement is expected to deliver a major performance increase. Earlier code discoveries have pointed to an A19 or A19 Pro-class processor, potentially accompanied by significantly more memory.
That extra performance is expected to enable Siri AI and other intelligence features that the current Apple TV hardware was not designed to support.
The Apple Post reported this week that the new Apple TV 4K could finally launch in October after Apple’s Siri AI work reportedly delayed the hardware.
The device has also been linked to Apple’s N1 networking chip, potentially bringing newer Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Thread capabilities as Apple gives Apple TV a larger role in its smart-home ecosystem.
A revised Siri Remote has appeared in previous Apple code as well, although the newly leaked product image does not reveal whether a new remote will ship alongside the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K.
The explicit fourth-generation label and presence of product imagery inside Apple’s code suggest the update is nearing release. Apple has not announced the device or confirmed whether it will hold another event in October.
