Apple’s long-awaited Apple TV 4K refresh could finally arrive in October, bringing faster hardware and support for the company’s new generation of Siri after the device reportedly spent months waiting for the software to be ready.
The current Apple TV 4K launched in 2022, making it one of the oldest major products in Apple’s lineup. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman continues to expect a replacement before the end of this year.
The Apple Post reported in May that the new Apple TV hardware had already been finished for months and was being used internally at Apple Park. Its launch was reportedly being held for Apple’s more capable Siri experience.
That obstacle has now changed significantly. Siri AI is rolling out as part of Apple’s latest software generation, giving the company a much stronger reason to update a product that relies heavily on voice interaction from across the room.
The new Apple TV is expected to receive a faster processor capable of supporting newer intelligence features. Reports have also linked it to upgraded wireless connectivity, potentially including Apple’s newer networking technology for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Thread.
The timing could be particularly important because Apple TV may become one part of a broader Home lineup rather than an isolated set-top box. Apple Stores are reportedly preparing new display areas for upcoming smart-home products, while HomePod mini 2 and a dedicated Apple Home Hub are also in development.
The Apple TV remains one of the strongest candidates for release before the end of 2026. Whether Apple gives it stage time at another event or announces it through the Newsroom may depend on how much of the wider Home lineup is ready at the same time.
