Apple discontinues iPhone 17 Pro series following iPhone 18 Pro launch

Apple has discontinued the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max following the launch of the new iPhone 18 Pro series, removing both devices from its official iPhone lineup.

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have been removed from Apple’s online store, although remaining stock is expected to continue to be available through third-party retailers and carriers while supplies last.

Apple introduced the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in September 2025, featuring a redesigned aluminum unibody, A19 Pro chip, new vapor chamber cooling system, and significant camera upgrades.

Both models featured three 48-megapixel Fusion cameras, including a redesigned Telephoto camera offering up to 8x optical-quality zoom, alongside an 18-megapixel Center Stage front camera.

The iPhone 17 Pro featured a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max featured a larger 6.9-inch display. Both supported ProMotion up to 120Hz, Always-On functionality, and up to 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness.

Apple offered the iPhone 17 Pro series in Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Silver, with prices starting at $1,099 for the iPhone 17 Pro and $1,199 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max when the devices launched.

Despite being discontinued by Apple, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will continue to receive software updates and are expected to remain available from other retailers until remaining stock is sold.

The discontinuation comes as Apple replaces the devices with the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max as its latest flagship Pro models.
