Señor Sisig uses Apple devices to grow its food truck and restaurant business

Señor Sisig, the Filipino-Mexican fusion food business founded by childhood friends Evan Kidera and Gil Payumo, says Apple technology has helped it grow from a single food truck into a business with four trucks and three restaurants across the San Francisco Bay Area.
The comments were shared in an interview with Apple as part of the company’s Small Business Success Stories series, which highlights how businesses are using Apple products and services to grow.
Founded around a shared love of food, Señor Sisig combines Mexican dishes like tacos and burritos with Filipino flavors, particularly sisig, a traditional dish inspired by Payumo’s childhood.
As the company expanded, Señor Sisig says it turned to Apple products to improve efficiency and maintain consistency across all of its locations.
“Apple helps to power our entire business — from inventory, receiving and distribution to management and finance — we just couldn’t do any of this without it,” said co-founder Evan Kidera.
Kitchen managers use Mac and iPad with the Foodager app to track incoming ingredients and coordinate the distribution of prepared food across multiple locations.
For employee onboarding and training, Señor Sisig uses the Opus Training app on iPad to share recipe guides, training videos, and instructions on how to prepare dishes consistently.
The business also relies on Slack on iPhone to help staff across its food trucks, restaurants, and kitchen stay connected and quickly solve problems.
Señor Sisig says iPhone also plays a major role in marketing. The team uses iPhone to create videos and other content for social media, helping promote daily specials, collaborations, and new menu items.
The company also uses Apple Business Connect to manage how its locations appear across Apple Maps, Wallet, Siri, and other Apple services.
“We use Apple Business Connect so people can use our place cards in Apple Maps to find us, as well as order their food and complete their payment,” Kidera said.
According to Señor Sisig, Apple products and services have become a core part of how the business operates, helping it continue to grow while staying connected to its community.
