Apple marks 50th anniversary with animated homepage tribute

Apple is celebrating its 50th anniversary today with a special animated tribute on its website homepage, highlighting some of the company’s most iconic products and services from the past five decades.
The sketch-style animation features outlines of products including the original Macintosh, iMac, iPod, MacBook, AirPods, iPhone 17 Pro, and Apple Vision Pro. It also includes references to Apple software and services such as Finder, the App Store, and Apple Music.
Beneath the animation, Apple has included a short message reflecting on the milestone.
“50 Years of Thinking Different,” the page reads. “At 50 years, it’s only natural to look back. But Apple has always looked forward, building tools and delivering experiences that enrich people’s lives. As we celebrate how far we’ve come, we’re inspired by where we’ll go — together.”
The homepage update is part of Apple’s wider 50th anniversary celebrations taking place around the world today. Throughout March, the company has held special events, performances, and Today at Apple sessions in cities including New York, London, Paris, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Sydney.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has also shared a separate video on X celebrating 50 years of innovation at Apple, featuring many of the same products shown in the homepage animation.
