How Saturnbird uses Mac to power its fast-growing coffee business

Shanghai-based coffee company Saturnbird says Mac has become a key part of its growth as it expands from a single coffee shop into a business serving more than 10 million customers online.
The comments were shared in an interview with Apple as part of the company’s Small Business Success Stories series, which highlights how businesses are using Apple products and services to grow.
Saturnbird says its patented coffee extraction process and strong focus on design have helped it build a loyal following, while Apple technology has supported both creativity and productivity across the business.
“We offer Mac to every Saturnbird employee because we want to empower them to do great things,” said founder and CEO Jun Wu. “High-quality tools inspire high-quality work across our teams.”
The company now has around 230 employees, with Mac used across departments ranging from product development to design and IT.
According to Saturnbird, all product development takes place on Mac, with employees relying on the machines for their speed, power, and battery life. Staff also use collaboration apps like Feishu, alongside Apple apps such as Freeform, Keynote, and Pages.
Saturnbird says Mac allows employees to move easily between devices, with workflows continuing across iPhone and iPad when needed.
The company’s design team also relies heavily on Mac for creative work, including packaging design, graphics, and 3D rendering. Saturnbird says apps like Cinema 4D and Rhino are important parts of its workflow.
“Mac makes the pro workflow smooth and easy,” said co-founder Lian Wang.
Mac has also become the preferred choice among employees, with Saturnbird saying 82 percent of staff choose to work on Mac.
The company says Apple’s built-in security features have also reduced the burden on its IT team. According to Saturnbird, the business has experienced zero security incidents since adopting Mac, while tools like FileVault and XProtect have reduced the need for third-party security software.
“Stability, security and ease of management are crucial for efficient IT operation,” said IT manager Weijun Yao. “Mac has consistently proven to be our reliable partner.”
Saturnbird says Apple technology is now deeply embedded throughout the business, helping it continue to grow while maintaining its focus on design, quality, and customer experience.
