According to Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter, iOS 18 will allow users to change the color of app icons.
After previously reporting that iOS 18 would offer a “more customizable” iPhone Home Screen, Mark Gurman has now revealed additional details about Apple’s plans. Gurman claims that Apple is developing a feature that will allow users to change the appearance of their app icons, providing the ability to recolor them.
For instance, users could set all their social media apps to green and all their gaming apps to orange, offering in a more personalized and visually organized Home Screen.
iOS 18 is expected to introduce a wave of new AI features to the iPhone. Gurman has previously claimed that Apple is reportedly nearing a deal with OpenAI to use its AI technology in iOS 18, with it said that the iPhone maker is reportedly pushing to “add AI to as many apps as possible,” with the company exploring new AI features for Apple Music, including auto-generated playlists, plus the use of AI in productivity apps, like Pages and Keynote.
