Up to 180,000 Apple Vision Pro headsets already sold, suggests analyst
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that up to 180,000 Apple Vision Pro headsets have already been sold in the 4-day period since pre-orders opened on Friday, noting how the device sold out soon after the pre-order process opened, with shipping times for all models slipping by five to seven weeks.
Following the initial extension of shipping estimates, Kuo observes that 48 hours after pre-orders commenced, there had been no additional delay. This indicates a potential slowdown in demand for the $3,499 headset, especially after early enthusiasts swiftly placed their orders upon the launch of pre-orders.
Last year, Apple introduced the Apple Vision Pro headset, made from a single piece of three-dimensionally shaped laminated glass with an aluminum alloy frame that contours to the user’s face, the device boasts an array of advanced cameras and sensors. These components collaborate to deliver an immersive mixed-reality experience, enhanced by speakers strategically positioned near the user’s ears to provide Spatial Audio, resulting in lifelike three-dimensional environments.
Pre-orders of the headset will be available for in-store pickup and delivery on Friday, February 2.
