Elon Musk says he ‘may require surgery’ before Mark Zuckerberg cage fight
Elon Musk has said he will undergo an MRI of his neck and upper back on Monday and may require surgery ahead of his proposed cage fight with Facebook Mark Zuckerberg.
The feud started in June when Elon Musk responded to a tweet about Facebook’s new app Threads, in which a user jokingly said to Musk he “better be careful” because Zuckerberg does Jujutsu, a Japanese martial art for close combat.
In response, Musk said “I’m up for a cage match if he is,” to which Zuckerberg took a screenshot of the tweet and uploaded it to Instagram, where he applied an overlay saying “Send Me Location.”
Musk then responded to the Instagram post on Twitter, saying “If this is for real, I will do it.”
On Sunday afternoon, Zuckerberg posted on Threads saying he is “ready today” and that he proposed August 26 for a fight date when Musk first challenged him.
“I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn’t confirmed. Not holding my breath,” Zuckerberg wrote.
“Exact date is still in flux. I’m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow,” Musk wrote on Sunday night, responding to a tweet about Zuckerberg waiting for his confirmation to set a date for fight night.
