Respected industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has spoken out ahead of Apple’s highly anticipated “California streaming” special event on Tuesday, reporting that for the first time, Apple will introduce a 1TB storage option for the high-end iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, while scrapping the 64GB storage capacity for the entry-level iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini.
In a note to investors, Kuo warns that the iPhone 13 may face supply issues due to component shortages, noting however that iPhone 13 shipments in 2021 are forecasted to grow by more than 10% YoY (vs. iPhone 12 shipments in 2020).
Apple offers the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage configurations. Kuo’s report claims that the device’s successors, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will be available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB capacities, potentially raising the starting price from $699/$749 to $799/$849, respectively.
For the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, Kuo expects Apple to offer 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations.
