Apple Arcade launching on September 19, priced at $4.99 per-month

As expected, Apple has shared some further details regarding its upcoming Apple Arcade gaming service, revealing that the service will be launching September 19, priced at $4.99 per-month.

Apple Arcade was announced in March, with Apple touting the platform as the world’s first gaming subscription service for mobile, desktop and the living room, allowing subscribers unlimited access to 100 new gaming titles, all of which will feature no adverts or additional in-app purchases, and can be played offline.

Reports have suggested Apple is ploughing more than $500 million into securing iOS-exclusivity agreements with developers, such as Cartoon Network, Lego, Disney, Konami and Sega, and to build new titles which will be available solely on Apple Arcade.

With an Apple Arcade subscription, users can visit the App Store to gain access to all applications included as part of the subscription. Apple is offering a free month trial of the service before charging users the $4.99 monthly fee.
