Apple’s new AirPods and AirPower now both in production ahead of spring launch

Apple’s next-generation AirPods and long awaited AirPower wireless charging mat are now both in production ahead of a launch scheduled for spring, according to a report from Taiwanese-based site Economic Daily News.

The report matches closely to the one shared on Monday which claimed Apple will release new AirPods 2 earbuds in a new black color option with a new grip-inclined specialist coating.

Despite numerous reports pointing to a spring release for both AirPower and AirPods, we’re still without a firm date when the new accessories will launch. Apple is widely believed now to be hosting a special services-focused media event at Apple Park on March 25th which is said to include no hardware updates whatsoever. – One theory is Apple could release the new accessories, possibly alongside minor updates to its entry-level iPad, within a press release after the event.

So far it appears alongside the added color option of black, AirPods 2 will feature “Hey Siri” support as well as possible new health tracking features.
