iPhone Duo delivery dates settle at late January across all models

After rapidly sliding from launch day into 2027, iPhone Duo delivery estimates appear to have finally stopped getting worse — at least for now.
AppleInsider reports that Apple’s U.S. online store had settled on late-January delivery estimates across every iPhone Duo configuration, regardless of storage capacity or color.
That is still a wait of more than three months from the device’s October 23 launch, but it marks a notable pause after availability deteriorated at extraordinary speed when pre-orders opened.
Launch-day delivery began disappearing less than 15 minutes after iPhone Duo pre-orders opened. Shortly afterward, some delivery estimates had already moved beyond December, before eventually reaching January 25 across the U.S. store.
The fact that every storage tier and both star white and night sky finishes were showing similar estimates suggests there is no obvious configuration that currently offers a shortcut through the backlog at Apple itself.
It also makes the scale of the shortage clearer. Apple has described demand for iPhone Duo as extraordinary, while earlier supply-chain reports pointed to manufacturing constraints that limited how many devices the company could prepare for launch. The available evidence suggests both strong demand and tight supply are contributing to the wait.
Carrier and retailer availability has not necessarily followed Apple’s own estimates. Some carriers retained earlier delivery windows after Apple’s online store had already slipped into 2027, although stock can change quickly and third-party estimates may be revised after an order is placed.
For customers hoping to avoid the late-January wait, launch-day retail availability remains uncertain. Some Apple Store employees are reportedly warning customers not to expect walk-in iPhone Duo inventory on October 23, while Apple is telling customers to check back on October 24 for pickup availability.
Apple has a history of quoting conservative delivery windows and sometimes shipping products earlier than initially estimated, so January 25 should not be treated as a guaranteed arrival date for every new order. Equally, there is no guarantee the backlog will improve quickly if demand remains high and production stays constrained.
iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 in the United States and £1,999 in the United Kingdom, with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB configurations available.
