Apple HomeView won’t launch in the European Union at first

Apple HomeView will not be available in the European Union when the new smart home display launches next month, Apple has confirmed.
Apple says the restriction is tied to Siri AI, which is not currently available in iOS or iPadOS in the European Union.
The company says it is working constructively with the EU in an attempt to find a path forward, but it has not provided a date for HomeView availability in the region.
Where HomeView is launching
HomeView pre-orders are open today in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the UK and the U.S., with Singapore following on October 15. South Africa will receive the product through Apple Authorized Resellers.
Both the tabletop and wall-mounted versions will be released in supported markets on Friday, November 13.
The Apple Post has a full breakdown of HomeView’s features, design, Siri AI, pricing and availability, as well as a separate HomeView pre-order guide.
Siri AI is fundamental to HomeView
Siri AI is built into the HomeView experience and powers conversational voice requests, personal context, onscreen awareness and smart home control. Apple is launching Siri AI on HomeView in English in the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the UK.
That dependency makes HomeView notably different from many other Apple products, as the device’s initial regional availability is directly linked to where Apple can offer its new Siri experience.
