Apple HomeView vs HomeView Wall Mounted: What’s the difference?

Apple is launching HomeView in two versions: a tabletop model with a built-in speaker base and a separate wall-mounted version designed for hallways, entryways and other fixed locations around the home.
Both models use the same 7-inch Liquid Retina display, support Siri AI and offer the same core smart home, FaceTime and entertainment features, but there are important differences in design, audio and mounting options.
For a full overview of the platform, The Apple Post has an in-depth guide to everything Apple HomeView can do.
Tabletop HomeView has the larger audio system
The standard HomeView connects its display to a domed speaker base using a stainless steel hinge. Inside are two custom full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators, with computational audio used to optimize sound in real time.
The wall-mounted model uses two custom drivers and computational audio tuned specifically for on-wall placement, but it does not include the tabletop model’s separate woofer and passive radiators.
Colors are different
The tabletop HomeView comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray. The wall-mounted model is offered only in silver and space gray.
The wall-mounted model needs a separate mount
Apple’s wall-mounted HomeView is designed to work with three Schneider Home mounting options. Power Mount USB-C Wall Connector starts at $59.95 in the U.S., while Power Mount AC Wired starts at $79.95. A Power Mount PoE Wired option arrives in early 2027 for $129.95.
The tabletop HomeView instead includes an adjustable hinge and can be placed on a kitchen counter, nightstand, desk or side table without additional hardware.
Price and release date
Both HomeView versions start at $299 in the U.S., with pre-orders open now and availability beginning Friday, November 13.
HomeView pre-orders are already open, alongside HomePod mini 2 and the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K.
