First look at Apple and LG’s upcoming smart lock, thermostat and temperature sensor

Images claiming to show some of the first smart home accessories co-developed by Apple and LG have surfaced online, offering an early look at a smart deadbolt lock, thermostat and temperature sensor expected to form part of Apple’s expanded home ecosystem.
Leaker pdfu shared images of the products on X, just a day after Bloomberg reported that Apple and LG have worked together on a wider lineup of smart home accessories. The images show LG branding, consistent with Bloomberg’s report that LG will manufacture, sell and support the products despite Apple helping shape their design, features and engineering.
The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock shown in the leak features a circular numeric touchpad paired with an interior lock mechanism. According to pdfu, the keypad can rotate, with an included swivel pin allowing its movement to be limited on one side when installed close to a wall.
The lock is said to support automatic unlocking and tap-to-unlock, alongside emergency power, master codes, adjustable touchpad lighting, an audio alert when a door is left open and configurable lock sounds. Bloomberg previously reported that the lock includes Ultra Wideband technology, potentially allowing it to unlock automatically as an authorized user approaches.
Images also show a circular LG Smart Thermostat with a large central temperature display and touch controls. The device reportedly includes temperature and humidity sensing, occupancy detection and settings for display brightness and language, alongside a Far Sight Display designed to make information visible from farther away.
A separate LG Temperature Sensor has a small puck-shaped design and can reportedly monitor both temperature and humidity. It is said to include a magnetic back for attaching directly to metal surfaces, with an adhesive metal plate supplied for other locations, and uses a replaceable battery.
The Apple Post reported earlier that Apple and LG are developing a wider collection of home accessories, including a wired video doorbell, indoor and outdoor security cameras and a floodlight camera. The accessories are expected to work closely with Apple’s upcoming smart home products.
Bloomberg describes LG as a “second-party” supplier for the project. The arrangement could be similar to Apple’s longstanding work with accessory makers such as Belkin and Logitech, where Apple can influence the design, features and engineering of products that are ultimately manufactured, supported and sold under another company’s brand. Apple currently sells a range of Belkin accessories through the Apple Store, including products offered exclusively by Apple.
The approach would allow Apple to quickly build out a broader home ecosystem without having to manufacture and support every accessory itself. LG, meanwhile, would provide Apple users with a coordinated range of products spanning locks, climate control and home security.
Neither Apple nor LG has officially announced the accessories. Bloomberg reports that the LG products remain at least a few months away from reaching customers, and pricing and regional availability have not yet been revealed.
