Apple has announced that iOS 27 will be compatible with all devices currently running iOS 26, including the iPhone 11, which had been rumored not to support this year’s software update.
Apple has not removed any iPhone models from its compatibility list this year. The company says iOS 27 supports the same devices as iOS 26, including the iPhone 11 lineup, which was first released in 2019.
The decision means iPhone 11 owners will receive a seventh major iOS update, making it one of the longest-supported iPhone lineups in Apple’s history.
iOS 27 also introduces Apple’s new Siri AI experience, featuring a dedicated Siri app, more natural conversations, conversation history, and deeper integration throughout the operating system. The update also includes new Apple Intelligence features across built-in apps, AI-powered photo editing tools, improved parental controls, and further refinements to the Liquid Glass design introduced in iOS 26.
