iPhone 18 Pro expected to feature under-screen Face ID, report claims

Apple is reportedly planning to introduce under-display Face ID with the iPhone 18 Pro, according to a new report.
The Information’s Wayne Ma and Qianer Liu, as reported by MacRumors, suggest the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models could do away with the pill-shaped Dynamic Island cutout at the top of the screen. Instead, the Face ID system would be hidden beneath the display, while the front-facing camera is expected to move to the top-left corner of the device.
The report also claims Apple may add a mechanical iris to at least one rear camera on the iPhone 18 Pro, enabling a variable aperture for improved photography in a wider range of lighting conditions.
