Apple preparing for upcoming Apple Vision Pro announcement, claims Gurman

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has claimed that Apple is preparing for an upcoming Apple Vision Pro-related announcement, posting on Threads that representatives from Apple are “reaching out to press” ahead of some form of Apple Vision Pro news that could come as soon as Friday.
Ahead of the widely rumored launch of Apple’s next-generation iPhone SE, which is slated to be unveiled within the next week, Gurman has claimed that Apple is planning a spate of new announcements, saying that “For Friday, Apple Vision Pro reps are reaching out to press about an announcement to come,” adding that a new M4 MacBook Air could launch within the next few weeks, and on Wednesday, Apple will make an announcement, although no specifics were shared.
It is unclear what Apple Vision Pro-related announcement the iPhone maker will make. It could be that Apple is bringing Apple Intelligence to the headset, or even that the device may be refreshed to run a new M-series chip, marking the first update to the headset since its debut.
Reputable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported in November that an upgraded version of the Apple Vision Pro headset running the yet-unannounced M5 chip was in the works for a release in 2025.
