Display panels for upcoming M4 MacBook Pro reportedly shipping from factories

As Apple gears up for the fourth quarter of 2024, display panels intended for the upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M4 chips are reportedly being shipped to the company throughout August, according to display analyst Ross Young in a post on X.
As noted by MacRumors who saw the subscriber-only post, The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will feature M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips, according to rumors, with the base 14-inch model equipped with the standard M4, while the higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch models will sport the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. These upgraded chips, introduced first in the iPad Pro in May, are built on TSMC’s 3-nanometer process, promising enhanced performance and efficiency, along with a more powerful Neural Engine designed for AI tasks.
While no significant redesign is anticipated for the MacBook Pro, Apple is expected to introduce a revamped Mac mini alongside these models. The updated Mac mini is rumored to have a smaller footprint, potentially becoming Apple’s smallest computer to date, with a size comparable to the Apple TV, though slightly taller.
With new iPhone and Apple Watch models already planned for Apple’s annual September event, the new Macs could be unveiled during a second event in October or November or through a press release. Additionally, Apple is expected to refresh the MacBook Air, Mac Pro, and Mac Studio with M4 chips, but these updates are projected for 2025.
